Mark Dearey Appointed to Seanad Éireann
The Louth Green Party would like to congratulate Mark Dearey on his appointment by An Taoiseach to Seanad Éireann today, the 23rd February 2010.
In his maiden speech Mark expressed regret that he would miss the joint meeting of Dundalk Town Council and Newry and Mourne District Council on the evening of the 24th. He said that there cannot have been a more important meeting of those bodies for many a year, following the car bomb in Newry on the 22nd and that he hoped that whatever means possible are used to provide political momentum in the Border region and throughout the North. Finally he said that he hoped that the meeting will provide further momentum to the political process in the North.
