Title: Louth Hospital
Responding to the announcement by the HSE of their intention to further downgrade the Louth Hospital in Dundalk, Cllr Mark Dearey said

"We now know for sure what we have all along believed, that the HSE are determined to strip the core services out of the County Hospital .They had the chance to postpone or reverse that strategy when that they announced that the new regional hospital is not being built.
How they can persist with the same plan which hinges on a regional hospital defies all logic. This is an horrendous day for Dundalk and North Louth "
On how the HSE announcement will be opposed Cllr Dearey continued,
"Prior to the Local Elections in June, John Gormley spoke of the critical importance of a functioning accident and emergency service to a Gateway town like Dundalk.
Since June 5th myself and Cllr Marianne Butler have kept him fully briefed on the HSE's plans and at a meeting earlier this week with the Parliamentary Party we ensured that the matter will be on the table in the current review of the Programme for Government. This is receiving serious attention at the highest level within the Green Party", Cllr Dearey concluded.
