Welcoming the decision by An Bord Pleanala to refuse permission for a retail and apartment development on Barn Road on the basis it is "not satisfied that the development of the site, in the manner that has been proposed, would allow for the station to be re-opened", Green Party Councillor Mark Dearey, expressed the view that this decision clearly gives primacy to the future of the station.
