Green candidates urge residents to take part in food campaign - More home grown food is one recipe that can take Ireland forward.
Páraic McKevitt, Green Party candidate in the Carlingford / Dundalk Ward, has joined his colleagues in urging residents to take part in "Get Ireland Growing", a campaign to encourage food growing at home and in the community.

In the current very hot weather a number of unattended cars at beaches and in the mountains have been broken into ruining for tourists for day trippers what should have been a pleasant day. “I have brought this to the attention of the Gardai and have asked that the car parks at beaches in particular be controlled over the rest of the summer.”

Councillor Dearey assists with campaign. At the invitation of the local residents in Glenmore Cllr Mark Dearey chaired a highly effective meeting to organize objections to the proposed licensing for prospecting in the mountains by Australian mining company Broken Hill Properties.

Following the meeting on June 8th at which Cllr Dearey proposed that any design statement needs to also encompass the needs of Omeath. Cllr Dearey urged all parties to find agreement based on community needs.
