Louth Greens Appoint New Chairman
Michael McKeon Green Party Candidate in the last local election was elected Chair of the Louth Green Party at a recent meeting. Speaking after his election McKeon said “I am delighted to be appointed Chair of the Louth Greens. We have a very dedicated and hard working membership who are active in many areas of economic, environmental and community life all over Co. Louth.”
Michael concluded “We are continuing the development of our team of candidates in preparation for next years local elections. Our panel of local candidates will be finalised and revealed in due course and we look forward to the challenging local election campaign ahead.”
One of his first jobs will be to oversee the first Green Party Convention (Ard Fheis) since the Green Party went into government. “We are delighted to welcome the Green Party to Dundalk. This Convention will bring about 600 delegates plus a large media presence to the town.” Michael continued “It is our intention to showcase all that Louth has to offer including our economic, heritage and environmental initiatives. Louth should be very proud of its diversity and success and the Louth Greens intend to show this off.”
