A Strong Future Ahead for the Louth Greens
General election candidate Cllr Mark Dearey today congratulated the four T.D.s for Louth that were re-elected last week and wished them every success in the next five years of government. Dearey acknowledged that it was a “good clean fight that all candidates should have been proud of.” He also thanked his family and friends, campaign team and supporters who “gave their time and support tirelessly in the pursuit of success.”
The election results gave a strong indication of support for the Louth Green Party with Dearey taking nearly 8% of the vote, more than doubling the 3.4% share of votes in 2002.“I know from meeting people all over the county that the Greens are perceived as having practical solutions for many of the challenges in society today. We look forward to building on the momentum that has been generated from this campaign and working towards a Dail seat at the next election. In the meantime, we have our eye on increasing our local government representation in Co. Louth and helping to deliver better services for the people.” Dearey continued “New members are always welcome to the Louth Green Party and you can learn more about the Louth Greens by visiting www.louthgreens.org or by calling 042 9836849.” Concluding Dearey said “It’s been a great campaign and I feel confident that next time out the new five seater constituency in Louth will return a Green TD.”
